Eliot Mess: Will NY Dems return Spitzer's cash?

Several papers are reporting on a call for U.S. Representatives Kirsten Gillibrand, John Hall, Brian Higgins and Michael Arcuri, as well as candidates Dan Maffei and Eric Massa to return thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from disgraced New York Governor Eliot Spitzer. Spitzer, who is rumored to be contemplating resignation in the wake of revelations he patronized a high-end prostitute, could be criminally charged.Whether the New York Democrats will return the funds is unknown, although several (either through their campaigns or the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee), made similar demands of their Republican opponents in 2006. Gillibrand once blasted Sweeney in calling for his help in preventing a strip-club from being built in Hudson, NY, calling the establishment “a real affront to parents like myself who are seeking to raise our children in communities free of such establishments.” Now we know where she stands on strip clubs. But what about hookers?
